Meet our team

We work with you to determine the right investment strategies to help you invest your hard-earned wealth today and for the future.

John has been advising clients on conservative investment management solutions since 1995. In his role as Senior Wealth Advisor, he works collaboratively with every client to generate personalized portfolios based on individual objectives. He feels only by getting to know the specific details of each client’s situation, can a proper strategy be implemented. John’s investment philosophy is on the conservative end of the spectrum, realizing consistent returns and generating steady cash flow.

Subsequent to graduating from UBC with a degree in Economics, John has attained numerous designations, including Certified Investment Manager (CIM) and Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI).

Outside of the office, John enjoys being active in and around Vancouver. Whether it is on the golf course, tennis court, softball field or The Grouse Grind, you’ll be sure to see him trying way too hard.  John, his wife Jill and their two daughters (and dog Lucy) are happy residents of North Vancouver.

Yael Dirnfeld

In a world of uncertainty and unlimited choice comes opportunity. I work with clients who recognize the power of teaming with a banking and credit strategist who can put them in the best position to act quickly and opportunistically.

Working with a select number of new clients each year allows me to go deeper: what makes you tick, how did you get to where you are, and what is important?

I take pride in creating the space for my clients to open-up, speak candidly about what matters and have conversations they’ve been craving. We discover gaps they did not know existed and ways to implement strategies they may be unaware of. I take an aerial view and then focus in on their priorities. Follow-through is critical to success, which is why I hold my clients accountable for what they say is important.

Having chosen to work with Scotiabank for 35 years of my career, I have developed strong connections and reliable partners in our retail and commercial bank, and a core team of experts within Wealth. This deep internal and external network is a powerful advantage I leverage for my clients, carefully aligning their needs and personality with like-minded specialists, while staying with them throughout the process.

The alliance that evolves on this journey takes an immense amount of time and the rewards are well worth it.
